Internet Magnates Coming to Chongqing for SCE

The first Smart China Expo to be held in southwest China’s Chongqing municipality is meaningful for its development in smart technology. Unleashing the great potential of intelligence can upgrade traditional industries in Chongqing, which represents an important manufacturing base in the west region of China.

 

The Chongqing Municipal Economic Work Conference

“We should make new achievements in innovation-driven development led by big data intelligence, by fully tapping its values in business, governance and civil affairs. ”The signal released on the Chongqing Municipal Economic Work Conference earlier this year has been regarded as a good opportunity by many Internet business leaders, so they have decided to invest on big data intelligence industry in Chongqing.

 

Internet Giants Frequently Visit Chongqing

In the first half of this year, Chongqing government has reached strategic cooperation with a number of large Internet companies.

On January 11, 2018, Jack Ma, Chairman of Alibaba Group, came to Chongqing and announced to establish a center to output its cutting-edge technologies such as cloud computing, Internet of Things and artificial intelligence, in a bid to fully integrate into the intelligent development in Chongqing.

In April, Tencent held the 2018 China's “Internet Plus” & Digital Economy Summit in Chongqing. Pony Ma, Tencent CEO and Richard Liu, founder, and CEO of JD.com also went to Chongqing with their “gifts” – Tencent’s plan to establish a Tencent Cloud intelligent supercomputing center for the industrial Internet in the municipality, and Jingdong to base its regional headquarters of JD Cloud in Chongqing.

In the same month, Lei Jun, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Xiaomi, also visited Chongqing and signed a strategic cooperation agreement on big data intelligence with the municipal government, with a focus on deepening intelligent manufacturing and applications, big data industry, new retailing, and consumer finance.

On May 14, Ren Zhengfei, president of Huawei, signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Chongqing municipal government. Both sides will cooperate on smart terminals, intelligent computing, and the Internet of Things.

 

Chongqing will Work on 12 Key Areas of Intelligence

In the next few years, Chongqing will mainly focus on 12 key areas, namely big data, artificial intelligence, integrated circuits, intelligent computing, software services, Internet of Things, automotive electronics, intelligent robots, intelligent hardware, intelligent networked vehicles, intelligent manufacturing equipment, digital content.

The upcoming Smart China Expo will greatly accelerate the development of intelligent industry in Chongqing.
