Representatives of the government of Banan speaking at Smart China Expo

“We will build an intelligence-powered, innovation-oriented new ecological city.” Yang Yaping, the Deputy Governor of Banan District of Chongqing, delivered the important message in his speech at the Smart China Expo on August 25.
Located in the south of Chongqing, Banan District is one of the urban districts of Chongqing Municipality. In recent years, Banan has aimed at industries related to Big Data Intelligence, and has carried out an action plan featured by innovation.
Particularly, five sectors have been confirmed as the key industries for Banan: Panel Display, Integrated Circuit, Intelligent Manufacturing, Networked Intelligent Vehicle, and Robot and UAV.
Indeed, the Bid Data Intelligent industry is developing rapidly in this land. Currently, 13 enterprises of the industrial chain of Panel Display have clustered in Banan, with an output of RMB 13 billion in 2017. In terms of software and IT service industries, there are already 1,214 companies settled in Banan, with an overall output of RMB 33.4 billion in 2017.
Big Data also is playing a role in the development of the industrial parks here. The district has established a 100,000-square-meter cloud-computing industrial park as the carrier for the development of Big Data industry. It covers the industrial sectors of education, healthcare, and information technology, with more than 300 registered enterprises now.
With the initiative of the action plan, the traditional industries are undergoing a transformation driven by Big Data. As so far, Banan District can be ranked in a leading position in Chongqing in terms of the application of Big Data Intelligence.
For instance, the public credit information sharing platform of Banan has released 620,000 pieces of credit data, and the rural property exchange information platform has reached a turnover of more than RMB 45 million.
It is worth mentioning that the International Grand Prix of UAV Racing, which has been one of the most expected and popular programs of the 2018 Smart China Expo, was jointly organized by Chongqing Municipal Economic & Information Commission and People's Government of Banan District.
The UAV industry of Banan district is just starting, owing 5 UAV enterprises, possessing an output value of about RMB 1 billion. In the next step, Banan will focus on developing military and civilian UAV, as well as the core components including engine and flight control system. The scale of this industry is expected to reach RMB 5 billion by 2020.
