About 800 exhibitors from more than 180 cultural fields all over the world have showed up in Chongqing International Expo Center on September 7 to 9. The 3-day cultural feast in Chongqing attracted more than 250 thousands visitors all around, closed with a sales amount RMB 125 million(US$18.3 million) on site, contract value 30.8 billion yuan (US$4.53 billion).
What brings so many cultural exhibitors all together? It is the Chongqing (International) Cultural Industry Expo, which has been the 7th edition of it this year.
What can we expect from the cultural industry expo this time? Let’s take a glimpse into the highlights of the expo.
In the local cultural achievement display area, the world cultural heritage Rongchang Grass Cloth, Rongchang Fan, Rongchang Pottery are on exhibition in Rongchang District Pavilion. Here you can find exquisite craftworks made of the famous grass cloth as well as fine works of Rongchang pottery.
For Yubei District Pavilion, the keyword of the exhibition is woodenware. Apart from the wooden exhibits, you will also have the chance to see the master making woodcarving on the spot.
The printmaking of Qijiang District Pavilion has gained great popularity. It is the most representative folk artwork of Chongqing, originated from the Chinese New year woodblock printing of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It is characterized by bright colors, and the themes are usually based on the country life of peasants.
The citizens are trying to "fly over Jiefangbei (People's Liberation Momument)" with VR glasses at the Yuzhong District Pavilion.
Tangsancai, or Tang Dynasty Tri-Color Glazed Ceramics, is mostly yellow, brown and green in color. It has a history of more than 1,300 years. Visitors can have a close look at the ancient technique at Master Gao Shuiwang works exhibition.
In the Ethiopia Pavilion, the famous coffee brand of this country is on exhibition, which brings tasty coffee to local coffee lovers.
Consulate General of Japan in Chongqing presents taiko drum performance in the Pavilion of Japan.
