A Multinational Team Won the Eco-Pentathlon in Jiangjin Last Weekend

The 2018 Jiangjin Simian Mountain ECO-Pentathlon Challenge had taken place on September 15 at the tourist spot of Simian Mountain. Routes of the competition were along with scenic routes, embracing the nature at the same time.

The First Competition Held by National Scenic Spots

Combined with the unique landscape at Simian Mountain, the scenic area created the Challenge inside the tourist spot.

The Challenge went across some beautiful scenic spots, including Wangxiangtai (the Balcony of Nostalgia) Waterfall （望乡台）, Xiangshui Lake (响水湖), etc. It was 45 km of the Challenge, including 5 parts: long-distance road running, MTB （mountain biking）, canoeing, paddling around the lake and trail running.

The game began with the gunshot. The Challenge was tough for participants because of precipitous steep. During some road sections in MTB, participants had to get off their bicycles and pushed them.

The Transnational Team Son the Championship

The team, Raw Adventure Team, won the championship of RMB 100,000 (USD 14,557) by using 2 hours, 45 minutes and 11 seconds. Members from France, Australia, and New Zealand got together because of one common interest, trail running. “Although the competition is harder than before, it is cool.” Said from the team, “It is fit to do some sports because of drizzle!”

Moxun Outdoor Team from Zunyi Medical University got the 4^th in this game with 2 hours, 51 minutes and 34 seconds. It is the best Chinese team. “We got the 4^th this year as well as last year. We need to get better the next year.” Said Liu Jian (刘健) from Moxun, “The game is harder this year, but it is not enough. We hope the game can last longer the next year for 2 days.”

New Agenda for Amateurs

The Challenge attracted more than 400 participants from 31 countries and regions, including China, Hong Kong, Macao, New Zealand, France and so on. There are 92 foreign participants in this game.

To attract more participants, the new agenda was set up for amateurs, combining experiential tourism with civilian sports. On September 16, there is another competition for sports amateurs started. More than 800 participants challenged 13-kilometer fell running.
