On 8 Nov., the 9th China Yangtze River Three Gorges International Tourism Festival held a special floats show in Wanzhou, themed with Magnificent Yangtze River, Poetic Three Gorges. (iChongqing has reported this news on 5 Nov. see the link here). The floats present the various local culture and travel features of the 14 districts and counties along the Yangtze River together.
In terms of the person in charge, the floats come from Wanzhou, Fuling, Changshou, Dianjiang, Liangping, Kaizhou, Yunyang, Shizhu, Chengkou, Fengdu, Fengjie, Wushan, Wuxi, and Chengkou. Each float is about 10m long, 2m wide and 3m high. There are 14 vehicles altogether. Those floats are colorful with vivid shapes.
The floats represent counties’ local culture, location, and special souvenirs. It reflects the rich tourism resources along three gorges. For instance, Fuling’s float highlighted the White Crane Ridge and famous Fuling pickles. Changshou’s float themed with its longevity (refers to its Chinese meaning). Fengdu’s float mainly focuses on the ghost culture. Dianjiang’s float has peony flower as its theme while Wushan’s float highlighted the red leaves.
The organizers aim to emphasize the straightforward vision of culture and scenes along Three Gorges. So during the parade, there are series of cultural activities for travelers. The floats show will close in the end of November 2018.
