Chongqing Inbound Tourism Captures Interest of World

Chongqing has topped the list of the 10 fastest growing cities in the world in terms of the direct contribution of tourism revenue to GDP, according to the report of 2018 Urban Tourism and Tourism Impact.

Aiming at turning itself into a world tourist destination, Chongqing also held the Global Travel Agents Conference 2018 (CGTAC 2018) from November 9th to 15th. Undoubtedly, the results were fruitful.

A more influential city brand

The event further enhanced the international influence of the tourism brand of Chongqing. The conference invited about 400 global travelers and agents from more than 20 countries and regions, including the US, the UK, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Thailand and Canada, as well as China's Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, to have a close look at the natural beauty and cultural appeal of this city.

By the experience of these guests, it can spread Chongqing's tourism image more effectively. At the same time, be a good marketing event.

In addition, the 2018 Chongqing International Tourism Fair exhibition hall opened, covering an area of 2,500 square meters and attracting 150 institutions or enterprises from Thailand, Jordan, Beijing, Tianjin, Shaanxi, Shandong, Hainan and other places at home and abroad.

 

An incentive for inbound tourism to Chongqing

Secondly, it further promoted the development of Chongqing's inbound tourism industry. During the conference, 30 inbound tourism projects were successfully signed, which will empower Chongqing's inbound tourism effectively.

At this conference, Chongqing announced the 72-hour transit visa-free policy and tax refund policy for overseas tourists, along with a series of tourism facilitation policies. It is expected, by such measures, to attract more inbound tourists to Chongqing.

Besides, the city made a further expansion in the overseas promotion. As of now, Chongqing International Communication Center for Culture and Tourism and 10 overseas tourism promotion centers have been established.
