On September 24, the commencement ceremony for key projects of Jiangbei District in the second half (H2) of 2019 kicked off on the site of the road improvement project in Tieshanping Ecological Zone. The 20 key projects mainly involve Big Data Intelligence, intelligent manufacturing, comprehensive transportation, improvement of people’s livelihood, urban upgrading and other fields.

In the first half (H1) of 2019, the GDP of Jiangbei District reached RMB 61.6 billion, up 8% year on year, ranking first in the nine districts in downtown Chongqing. The district ranks among the top in terms of industrial added value, investment in fixed assets, total retail sales of consumer goods and per capita income of residents above the designated size. In 2019, it has planned 230 key projects, with an investment of RMB 204.02 billion, including 67 market-oriented projects and 163 projects dominated by the district-level government, with an investment of RMB 163.99 billion and RMB 40.03 billion respectively.

A total of 50 projects will start construction this year, with an investment of RMB 57.45 billion. With concerted efforts, the whole district has set up the concept of promoting great development through large projects with a view to insuring steady and sustainable quality development. Taking the commencement ceremony in H1 as an opportunity, Jiangbei District fully started the project construction, and a rolling development trend of “planning, signing, starting construction, completing, putting into production and reserving” has been formed. H2 will keep seeing sound momentum, which will lay a solid foundation for maintaining investment fundamentals, strengthening investment confidence and promoting high-quality economic development.

H2 will embrace 20 projects, including 10 market-oriented ones and 10 government-dominated ones. These exemplary projects, which could vigorously promote investment, are essential for Jiangbei District to stabilize investment and improve weak links.
