Chongqing to transform rural houses, toilets

Authorities in the southwestern municipality of Chongqing plans to transform rural houses and toilets to boost development in the countryside.

A total of 30,000 dangerous houses will be renovated in 2019, in addition to 375,000 toilets. Authorities also plan to build 24,000 km of new roads.

According to the local government, polluted water in the countryside will be properly treated, and agricultural waste will be utilized effectively. The authorities will also strengthen protection for rural culture and traditions.

A series of projects will be implemented to help with the supply-side reform in Chongqing.
