The afternoon of February 19 saw a bustling South Square of Chongqing Bei (North) Railway Station. Led by the performing artists of Chongqing Opera House, thousands of citizens and tourists volunteered to join the flash mob. The chorus is called My Motherland and Me.

The flash mob “kindled” the square
During the Lantern Festival, visitors swarmed into South Square, some for homecoming and some for work. In addition, this is the main part themed with “Courier Station of Dreams”. In the meantime, the organizers included Publicity Department of Chongqing CPC Municipal Committee, General Office of Spiritual Civilization Commission of Construction of Chongqing Municipality and Administrative Committee of Liangjiang New Area Party Work Committee. Moreover, Chongqing Municipal Public Security Bureau, Chongqing Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, and Chongqing Women’s Federation were participating organizations. Besides, there were other 17 units taking part in the event as well.
Musicians were playing different kinds of musical instruments
A boy first walked to the central square and then began playing the trumpet. Afterward, dozens of artists appeared with instruments such as the violin, violoncello, oboe, French horn, and bass drum. At that time, the familiar melody reverberated throughout the square, igniting their patriotism.
People were singing the song of their own accord
Moreover, the audience was enthusiastic and joined in the chorus one after another. Meanwhile, the staff distributed the national flags to the crowds. Furthermore, with the singing, everyone waved the national flag and formed a spontaneous chorus of 1,000 people.
