Many people in China know about Venice, the City of Water, from the textbook of elementary school. But they can only imagine the winding water alleys, waterways shining under the sun, romantic buildings on banks and Gondola on the canal, without a chance to visit the city personally. Actually, Chongqing has its own “Venice”.

People can visit Shengming Universal City in Yubei District to find the “Venice in Chongqing”. To immerse themselves in the beautiful landscape, they should pass through the Ferris wheel, find the man-made canal on the other side of the entertainment area and walk 100 meters along the river.

It is called Kela Wharf Street, where people can rest and have food. The man-made canal surrounds the entertainment area and is nearly 1 kilometer long. Visitors are also allowed to take a boat 0on the canal to enjoy the beautiful landscape, which is similar to Venice, in Chongqing.
