The test aircraft is Citation-S (C680), with a capacity of 8 passengers and a total of 5 crew members. The flight inspection will end on April 1, followed by the test flight and industry acceptance. Thus, the airport strives to achieve its operation in the first half of this year.

After its completion, the airport can offer the opportunity for passengers to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Three Gorges. Chongqing Wushan Airport is a 4C-class feeder line airport. Its design and construction are on the basis of an expected throughput of 280,000 passengers, cargo throughput of 1,200 tons, and annual landing and takeoff of 3,333 times in 2020.

Chongqing Wushan Airport, with an altitude of 1,771.48 meters, is currently Chongqing’s highest civilian airport.

The south and northeast sides of the airport are Qutang Gorge and Wuxia Gorge respectively. After its completion and operation, tourists can overlook the magnificent scenes of the Yangtze River rolling eastward here. The airport will become the only one in China, where visitors can enjoy the spectacular landscapes of Gaoxia Pinghu Resort Area.

Chongqing Wushan Airport is gearing up for its trial operation and official opening in the first half of this year. It will take one hour to arrive at the airport from downtown Chongqing by air.

At the end of last year, Wushan County and China Express Airlines held a signing ceremony for the cooperation agreement to open the Chongqing-Wushan route. The charter flight will run from June 2019 to the end of October 2020, with one flight per day (82 or 87 seats), and a free baggage allowance of 20 kilograms per passenger.

Chongqing Wushan Airport will successively open its tourism routes to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Xi’an, Kunming, Guiyang and other cities.
