Chongqing Transportation Holdings (Group) boosts smart travel, enabling passengers to locate buses in real time.
Currently, 523 buses on 118 lines in Yubei, Banan, Beibei and other districts outside the second ring road have realized centralized traffic control through big data and intelligent scheduling system.
Big Data Intelligence is deeply affecting all aspects of people’s life, among which smart travel stands out. Chongqing Transportation Holdings (Group) Co., Ltd., which is responsible for the travel of most citizens in Chongqing, has applied Internet technology to the public transit system. Through the construction of smart public transit system and implementation of centralized traffic control, the bus apps can query the real-time location information, departure information and arrival information of buses, as well as realizing functions such as QR code payment. The smart public transit system has provided citizens with more convenient, more efficient and safer public transport services.
DONGCHENG TRANSPORTATION, a bus app, can query bus information such as the real-time location, departure/arrival time. Passengers can pay for sectional fares by scanning QR code on 42 customized bus routes.
Next, the app will provide more. For example, citizens can check the congestion level in the bus before it arrives, then to decide whether to get on. This function is now in the testing phase.
