Chongqing-Ningbo, or Yuyong, freight trains made 143 trips, achieving the delivery of 16,686 twenty-foot equivalent unit, or TEU, as of December 31, 2018.

It takes only 57 hours, much less than 10 to 15 days by traditional waterway through the Yangtze River, to transport from Chongqing to Ningbo Zhoushan Port. Yuyong freight trains, a two-way service now, promotes in-depth cooperation with countries and regions along the “Belt and Road” in engineering construction, business services, industrial investment, resources and energy, and make Chongqing an important strategic node for the “Belt and Road”.

2019 marks the second anniversary of China (Chongqing) Pilot Free Trade Zone, as it was established on April 1, 2017. The Yuyong train serves as a “Public Platform for Chongqing-Ningbo Rail-Sea Intermodal Service” co-built by Chongqing Transportation Holdings (Group) Co., Ltd. and Ningbo Zhoushan Port Group Co., Ltd.

Transported goods include glass fiber, security doors, and other high-end manufacturing products in Chongqing, and then are transported to other countries by sea from Ningbo.

The operation of Yuyong train promotes Chongqing's innovative development of multimodal transport and helps to build Chongqing an inland international logistics hub.
