Kunlun Drive-in Theater, the first of its kind in Chongqing, opened in Ba`nan District on April 11, providing Chongqing citizens with a brand-new mode for watching films in private cars.

Chongqing’s First Drive-in Theater

Covering a floor area of 8,000 square meters, the drive-in theater consists of three enclosed parking areas capable of accommodating a total of 200 cars. The theater is also equipped with a 17-meter-wide outdoor screen and internationally leading FM stereo broadcasting technology. The latter combined with an in-car surround sound system can deliver an amazing stereophonic effect to audiences.

Overview of the drive-in theater

Each private car, occupying a separate theater box, spares the audience from intense heat and mosquitos while also protecting them from the wind and rain. Furthermore, the weather is never a problem in this drive-in theater. The projection will not be affected by any weather unless a heavy rainstorm blocks the view.
