Thanks to the investment promotion, Hechuan District has achieved a good start for high-quality economic development in 2019. In the first quarter of this year, 40 projects have been signed at a value of 24.6 billion yuan. 2 domestic and foreign listed enterprises have been introduced to settle in Hechuan District. During the same period, Hechuan District's GDP reached 18.089 billion yuan, an increase of 11.0% year on year, 5 percentage points higher than the average level of the whole city, and the growth rate ranks the third in Chongqing. Fixed asset investment increased by 14%, 7.4 percentage points higher than the average level of the city, ranking the 2nd in the western part of Chongqing. In particular, the industrial sector has become the strongest driving force for the economy, with the added industrial value of 5.379 billion yuan, an increase of 11.5%, ranking the 8th in the city.
Hechuan District is striving to develop three leading industries - the equipment manufacturing industry based on automobile and motorcycle, the medical and health industry based on medicine and medical devices, and the information technology industry based on information security. Hechuan District is a popular tourist destination in Chongqing.
