Chongqing- China is actively striving to promote the development of new-type urbanization. The construction and development of cities and towns in the central and western regions are ready to bring new opportunities for professional services such as urban planning, construction, engineering, and urban management. As a key economic and trade city in Western China, Chongqing has kept accelerating the pace of urban planning and development in recent years. In order to help Hong Kong grasp business opportunities in the construction service industry, on May 15, 2019, the Hong Kong Trade and Development Council (HKTDC) held its first large-scale promotional event in Chongqing. During this three-day event, which is from May 15 to 17, the delegation will visit Chongqing to provide an all-around platform for enterprises in Chongqing and Hong Kong through forums, business matching, and inspection activities, and to promote exchanges and cooperation between the two sides in urbanization development.
HKTDC landed in Chongqing, with their urban construction service, to expand business opportunities for town development
The Hong Kong delegation was led by the Assistant President of HKTDC, Mr. Liang Guohao. There are 18 members of the delegation come from a variety of professional fields, including architectural design, urban planning, surveying, architectural engineering consultants and management, real estate development and innovative technology.
Suggestions from HK’s construction service industry
Chongqing is the largest economic center in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River. Meanwhile, it is the major industrial and commercial town in the southwest as well as a water-land transportation hub. Hong Kong is currently one of the largest investors in Chongqing, and the two sides have close business relations. The forum on urban construction held on May 15, was the focus of this event. The forum aims to introduce the advantages of Hong Kong's urban construction service industry to the Chongqing Municipal Government and local enterprises, encouraging Chongqing and Hong Kong's urban construction service industry to participate in the development of Chongqing.
According to Liang Guohao, Chongqing is the only municipality directly under the Central Government in the western region and owns special geographical advantages. He also said that with the acceleration of cooperation and development between the Mainland and Hong Kong, Chongqing enterprises can make use of Hong Kong as an international port business platform to further cooperate with and meet the needs of regional partners for professional services, jointly building a future model of smart and sustainable cities, integrating Hong Kong's advantages in financial and professional services.

Cooperation opportunities between Chongqing and HK
The forum focuses on three hot topics: urban construction, urban cooperation between Chongqing and Hong Kong, and multi-dimensional spatial planning and integration of city. Including several well-known corporate representatives from Cushman & Wakefield, Earthasia Design Group and Arup shared Hong Kong's rich experience and advantages. They explored strategies for future cooperation between two places.
