Chongqing- On May 16, Opening-Up Momentum in Western China Summit took place in Chongqing International Expo Center. Attendants from both home and abroad gathered together to discuss under the theme of opportunities in Western China During New Opening- Up Era.

Guest speakers delivered wonderful speeches to share experiences on regional opening-up and high-quality development.
Mr. Yang Xingping, Deputy Governor of Sichuan province, pointed out that WCIFIT bridged the international investment and trade and it was an important platform for the opening-up of the western region. “We are looking forward to working with you to promote coordinated regional development. We will further integrate into the construction of Belt and Road, the Yangtze River Economic Belt, and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Great Bay Area. We will promote mutually beneficial cooperation among the east, central and western regions, and jointly open up new space for economic development.” Said Mr. Yang in the speech.
“In order to attract more foreign investors, Tajikistan has implemented a series of state institutional and economic reforms and created a good environment for business and investment,” said the first Deputy Director of the State Investment and State-Owned Assets Management Commission of Tajikistan while he was sharing Tajikistan’s practice to attract foreign investment. The measures include making contracts easier to carry out and companies run more smoothly, protecting intellectual property, protecting ownership, removing administrative barriers, raising the potential for investment and reducing risk.
The head of the Government of the Russian state of Samara State said the state's trade with China reached USD 600 million last year. Since then, the two sides have made major breakthroughs in trade volume. In terms of railway transportation, Russian logistics companies are also willing to strengthen cooperation with logistics enterprises in western China.
Liu Tao, a member of the Party group of the Qinghai Provincial Government, indicted that Qinghai province hopes to expand new channels of communication and cooperation with other provinces and cities, and work together develop Belt and Road.
Van der Veer, chairman of the supervisory board of Philips Group, said China's Belt and Road initiative and intelligent manufacturing 2025 strategy will achieve greater achievements. It is hoped that China can make more market connections with other countries and help other countries increase employment through certain commercial projects.
Zhang Guohua, Deputy Governor of Yunnan province, said the WCIFIT focuses on promoting a new round of the western high-level opening - up and high-quality development and gives a full display of major achievement in the western region. It also speeds up the construction of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, the Development of the Western Region in China. it provides huge business opportunities.
Lei Mingshan, the Chairman of China Three Gorges Group, stressed green development is a priority for its strategic cooperation. At present, Three Gorges Group’s three pilot projects have been started in Liangping District, Ba’nan District, and Wushan county. The first batch of cooperation projects including Guangyang ecological island construction, Two Rivers and Four Banks, Clean Water and Green Bank, which will be implemented as soon as possible. The Group will strengthen strategic cooperation with the municipal water company and other enterprises to enhance and expand the green ecological environmental protection industry.
