West China Belt and Road Investment and Trade Matchmaking Produces Fruitful Results

Chongqing-2019 China (West) Belt and Road Cross-Border Investment and Trade Matchingmaking Event took place in Southwest China’s Chongqing Municipality, May 17, 2019. It was an important activity of the 2nd Western China International Fair for Investment and Trade there. 272 cooperation intentions were reached on site, and 87 on-site contracts were signed.

It is designed to promote the investment and trade cooperation between the industrial and commercial enterprises in Chongqing and their counterparts in countries along the Belt and Road by way of one-on-one negotiation. Moreover, the event co-hosts were the Chongqing Municipal People’s Government and the Bank of China.

International and domestic markets and resources

2019 China (West) Belt and Road Cross-Border Investment and Trade Matchingmaking Event excellently demonstrated to make good use of international and domestic markets and resources.

190 overseas companies from 22 countries and regions, as well as 440 enterprises from China’s western regions, participated in the matchmaking event and carried out 7 rounds and nearly 800 sessions of one-on-one negotiations. Among them, 313 small- and medium-sized enterprises and micro-enterprises accounted for more than 70% of domestic enterprises signed up.

The foreign companies mainly from Italy, Germany, Poland, Hungary, Singapore, Indonesia, Hong Kong, and other countries and regions, involved electronic information, chemical medicine, materials and energy, environmental protection, equipment manufacturing, automobile manufacturing, consumer goods, and other industries.

Bank of China’s Global SME Matchmaking System

Since 2014, the Bank of China has hosted 50 cross-border matchmaking events around the world and attracted nearly 30,000 Chinese and foreign companies from 87 countries and regions on five continents.

The industry involves information technology, biomedicine, high-end manufacturing, artificial intelligence and so on. It has helped enterprises successfully achieve a series of business cooperation in trade, investment, and technology introduction.
