On May 17, at Chongqing International Expo Center, iChongqing took an interview with Mr. Andrei to talk about his trip to WCIFIT.
Irkutsk is the closest state in Russia to China and has developed strong economic ties with China. “ The location advantage brings great convenience to the joint projects between China and Irkutsk. Currently, we have sought cooperation with Chongqing in fields including logistics, tourism, agriculture, industry, and gas.” Mr. Andrei told iChongqing.
The world famous Lake Baikal is located in Irkutsk, which has become a popular tourist destination for Chongqing citizens. “We will continue to improve our tourism products of Lake Baikal by enlarging the visiting area and upgrading the tourism services so that tourists can have better travel experience.” Mr. Andrei said. “I have come to Chongqing for 3 times. Chongqing people are very friendly and outgoing. it is a city with abundant tourism resources. We would recommend to the people back Irkutsk about the Three Gorges, the site of Soviet Union Embassy in Chongqing, the two rivers cruise, beautiful landscapes in downtown and so on. There is a huge potential for us to develop cooperation on tourism.” He continued.
“It is the first time that Mr. Andrei attended the WCIFIT on behalf of Irkutsk State, he said, “we are very appreciated to get invited to WCIFIT. It is a platform that helps our two sides get to know more about each other. Irkutsk is looking forward to involving more in WCIFIT in the future and hopefully, more and more enterprises from Irkutsk can participate in the great event.”
