So why did the BRISC settle in Chongqing?

There are several key reasons why BRISC chooses Chongqing, let's check it out

First of all, Chongqing is a junction linking the BRI and the Yangtze River Economic Belt, and an important strategic stronghold of the Western Development Strategy. This choice can facilitate the utilization of the BRI platform. It will construct a talent development hub in Western China and the creation of a new cooperation model for the cross-regional exchanges of skilled talent. Therefore, it will achieve a rational distribution of skilled personnel by guiding their gathering and cooperation through national strategies.

Secondly, it is an important national central city, an economic center in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, an important modern manufacturing base, a comprehensive transportation hub in the southwest region, a strategic support for the development and opening-up of the western region, a central hub in the western part of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, and an exemplary inland city of opening-up. Being closely linked with relevant countries along the BRI through China Railway Express, it has become one of the major arteries serving the BRI. Meanwhile, with the largest inland port in China and the development pattern of “port+logistic park” and “water-rail intermodal transport”, it has become an economic landmark where the BRI and the Yangtze River Economic Belt meet. In a word, Chongqing enjoys natural location advantages to build the BRI.

Chongqing has made remarkable achievements in vocational skills competitions in recent years and has participated in five consecutive World Skills Competition (WSC) in China. It also holds China · Chongqing Vocational Skills Competition regularly and a series of vocational skills competitions of Bayu Craftsman Cup every year. Moreover, it has successively undertaken some important events and international conference activities such as the National Selection Competition for the WSC, the international invitational tournament of some competitions, China Hot Pot Skill Competition and Chongqing Noodles Cooking Competition, accumulating rich experience.

It owns a large convention and exhibition center with advanced venues and facilities, the aviation, port, railway, information and other comprehensive transportation network with the most complete functions in inland China, and favorable traffic, communications, environment, health, safety, reception and other service guarantee conditions, which enables it to run a quality BRISC with Chinese characteristics.
