Chongqing- The 57 cooperative parties signed 42 cooperation agreements at the Belt and Road International Skills Competition, or BRISC, in Southwest China’s Chongqing Municipality, May 29, 2019. These cooperation agreements at the Belt and Road International Skill Cooperation and Exchange Signing Ceremony involved areas such as school-enterprise cooperation, school-school cooperation, the establishment of a training base for the world skills Competition, and the construction of a high-skilled personnel training base.

Wednesday’s cooperation and exchange signing ceremony gathered more than 150 participants, composed of representatives from the U.S., Germany, Australia, Italy, Canada, Spain, South Korea, Singapore, Hungary, the Philippines, and Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and from relevant departments, vocational schools, training institutions and etc.

The signing ceremony is an important part of BRISC, and represents one of the important measures to implement the second Belt and Road for International Cooperation. Relevant participants expressed that the exchange and cooperation signing ceremony serves as a platform for both Chinese and foreign partners to improve skills and enhance friendship. It is conducive to jointly promote the accelerated development of global vocational skills, strengthen exchanges, deepen friendship, improve the level and enjoy common development. The platform helps to develop talents with international vision and first-class skills, promote economic and social development and jointly promote the Belt and Road Initiative to achieve high-quality development.
Chongqing sets its goal of 20 cooperative education projects cooperation in running schools between foreign educational institutions and Chinese educational institutions, 30 international school-enterprise cooperation projects, organizing or participating in 5 international professional skill competitions each year, and selecting 500 teachers, students and management personnel to go abroad for exchange training, and inviting 400 international vocational education experts and high-level skilled personnel to Chongqing for exchange and cooperation by 2020.
The Belt and Road International Skills Competition, scheduled from May 26 to 31 in Chongqing, is co-hosted by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security of China, the National Development and Reform Commission, China International Development Cooperation Agency and Chongqing Municipal People’s Government.
