Skilled Teams from All over the World Arrived in Chongqing Successively

The opening ceremony of the Belt and Road International Skills Competition (BRISC) kicked off in Chongqing International Expo Center on the evening of May 27. As teams from around the world had arrived in Chongqing in succession, the night of May 26 saw a wonderful rehearsal for the opening ceremony. Germany: we  will  win the Automobile Technology project

The 2-member German Team will participate in the Automobile Technology project.

Simon Kazmirovich, one of the competitors, said it was a great opportunity for him to learn and practice through competing with professionals from all over the world, and he would treat the contest as seriously as always.

The other competitor Erg Stodge believed that the level of automobile technology was determined by many factors such as the personal experience and ability of the competitor and the overall technical level and strength of his/her country, of which the individual ability was the decisive one.

Therefore, the contest requires not only extraordinary skills and rich practical experience but also rigorous attitudes.

Thailand: To make a Thai dish with Chongqing flavor

Three Thai players will compete in cooking, restaurant service, and hairdressing respectively.

Cooking contestant, Pomi Sironsohn, said excitedly that before coming to Chongqing, he had already learned a lot about Chongqing cuisine and he was pleasantly surprised to find that people in both Chongqing and Thailand loved spicy food.

He added that he couldn’t wait to enjoy spicy Chongqing food and hoped to find new inspiration from it, so as to help himself make a Thai dish with Chongqing flavor.

Members of the Hong Kong Team will compete in 8 events, including hairdressing, restaurant service, cooking, and fashion technology.

Li Hanhui showed great interest in food, especially Chongqing hot pot so that he chose cooking. He said that Hong Kong was a city of gastronomy with numerous well-known western restaurants and he had tasted hundreds of them in a year to learn their placement and recipe and then study at home. “Practicing and learning make me who I am,” he told us.

According to information, Brazil dispatched 7 people to Chongqing, including 3 participating in the projects of Restaurant Service, Information Network Cabling, and Health and Social Care.

Gustavo, with two-year learning and working experience, participated in Restaurant Service. As we all know, the hot Samba is a specialty of Brazil and the most popular expression form of Brazilian culture. “I would like to serve the customers enthusiastically to please them,” Gustavo said, who held that sincere attitude was as important as quality services.

Four players from Australia will compete in Cooking, Automobile Technology, Joinery, and Electrical Installations.

Thomas Neave has been preparing for the Joinery competition for nearly a year. He started simple woodwork at the age of 11, then studied professional carpentry at a technical school in Australia, and returned to his hometown and worked as a skilled worker in a neighbor’s factory four years ago.

Tajikistan: Expect to see the famous Yangtze River

Contestants from Tajikistan participated in the competition projects of Electrical Installations and Painting and Decorating. It’s the first visit for the 20-year-old Melkov Satty to Chongqing, and he will participate in Electrical Installations. He was impressed by the landscaping in Chongqing and hoped to see the Yangtze River running through the city.

However, the team leader Kulobiev Sawyer hoped to communicate with experts and players in various fields for skill cooperation and common development.

The US: To experience Chongqing hot pot and night scenes

The US Team, with two players and two experts, will compete in Cooking and Baking.

Julie Iwan told us that players were fully prepared for the competition, and she looked forward to the technical exchanges among teams.

Julia Spundike, who came to Chongqing for the first time, would like to see the charming night scenes in the city.

“I like spicy food very much and I hope to enjoy the local flavor here,” said Daelan Torres, who felt glad to visit Chongqing for competition and hoped to learn more about its delicacies.

Gregory Beach was particularly interested in Chongqing hot pot recommended by his daughter, who had served as an English teacher in the city for three months several years ago. The BRISC is a good chance for him to taste the authentic Chongqing hot pot.
