AmCham’s Annual White Paper on Recent American Business in China Released in Southwest China

Chongqing - On May 31, AmCham Southwest Chongqing Branch 10th Anniversary Celebration and 2019 White Paper Forum (Chongqing) took place in Hyatt Regency Chongqing. The ceremony gathered officials from consulates and foreign institutions as well as CEOs from prominent companies in Southwest China for an insightful forum and warm communications.

Mr. Jim Mullinax, the Consul General of U.S. Consulate General in Chengdu, extended a warm welcome to the guests. Mr. Benjamin Wang, the chairman of AmCham Southwest China, delivered the opening speech. 

AmCham Representatives from industries including Education, Finance, Hospitality, Legal Service, Manufacturing, Service, and Consulting carried out detailed and practical speeches. The representatives are prominent figures in the relevant industries in Southwest China. Their statements gave an overall view of the current situation, challenges, and opportunities the industries are facing.

During the event, the new American Business in China (Annual White Paper) was released in Southwest China. 2019 American Business in China (the White Paper) includes nearly 40 chapters that cover viewpoints and suggestions on regional issues and cross-industry problems concerning member companies. AmCham Southwest Chongqing Branch contributed insights regarding industries like finance, service and consulting, manufacturing, education and the legal sector. Various experts delivered excellent discussions covering a broad view of principal areas which affect the economy of Southwest China. The White Paper serves to establish a Policy Platform for the coming year, and it is widely distributed and referred to by officials in Chinese and U.S. governments.

Wonderful Chinese traditional performances pushed the atmosphere to high tide. Food was delicious, and the talks were warm, what a wonderful night.
