Celebrate the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) with gifts — The 7th Fine Arts Works Exhibition of Chongqing & The 13th National Art Exhibition, Chongqing Selected Works Exhibition (the Exhibition) was opened in Chongqing Art Museum and Art Museum of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute simultaneously on June 16. It exhibits 790 works created by Chongqing artists.

As the largest comprehensive fine arts exhibition held by the city recently, it enjoys 28 Chinese paintings and 48 oil paintings included in the List of Chongqing Selected Works of the 13th National Art Exhibition. Exhibits reflect social reality and people’s lives, echoing the call of the times. Thus, they represent the highest level of painting in Chongqing over the past five years.

Artworks, including Fresh Fruits and Vegetables · Happy People (oil painting) from Zhao Xiaodong, Tea Houses — Joy and Safety (oil painting) from Chen Anjian, and Golden Childhood (Chinese painting) from Tang Defu, rely on trifles to unveil peoples’ growing happiness and sense of fulfillment since the founding of new China 70 years ago.
There were 790 works in total
Some pieces impress people for they describe constructors, takeaway delivery men, sanitation workers, and other working people’s pursuit of a happy life. This collection includes Establisher, Under the Warm Sun and Wind from afar.

Artists also drew the beautiful landscapes in Chongqing. In Morning in Chongqing, a Chinese painting, there is a grand bridge, running Chongqing Rail Transit (CRT) trains and ships. These images are to praise the thriving development of the city.

The Green Mountains and Clear Rivers, another Chinese painting, is about tourists enjoying beautiful views and taking pictures on the Qiansimen Jialing River Bridge. It shows the charm of Chongqing, a land of natural beauty and a city with cultural appeal.
