Chongqing Yufu Assets Management Group is developing the Expo Park, which is expected to open in October, to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. Based on the Chongqing Museum of Industry, it is the first Expo Park that integrates a public industrial heritage museum with a profit industrial park.
On June 27, Industrial Heritage Park of Chongqing Industrial Culture Expo Park (Expo Park) exhibited a 250-ton 8,000 hp dual-cylinder horizontal steam prime mover, which was made in 1905
The Expo Park sits in Lizilin, Dadukou District, where Structural Steel Plant of Chongqing Iron & Steel Group was located. It covers an area of about 101,333 m2 and plans to develop 140,000 m2 (including underground area). The Museum faces the international market. Composed by the main exhibition hall, themed hall and Industrial Heritage Park, it aims to create an innovative, creative, and interactive theme park.
The 8,000-square-meter main exhibition hall mainly demonstrates the history and contribution of Chongqing industry over the past 120 years.

The steam prime mover is one of the most precious exhibits of the Museum. Standing prominently in the themed hall, it has stood since being transferred to Chongqing during the War of Resistance. Succeeding in making the first heavy rail of China in 1952, the steam prime mover then produced materials for construction of Chengdu-Chongqing Railway, the first railway in China.
An attractive large sculpture, Mysterious Industrial City, is located in the Industrial Heritage Park. Through landscaping and graffito, large iron and steel equipment and spare parts constitute a castle. People can step into it to feel the harmonious co-existence of industrial culture and public art after it opens to the public.
