Chongqing’s Promotion on Cultural Tourism Launched in Sydney

Chongqing- “A Land of Natural Beauty, A City with Cultural Appeal” Chongqing City Cultural Tourism Promotion Conference was held in Sydney, Australia on July 5th local time. Tourism resources of Southwest China’s Chongqing Municipality were presented to hundreds of guests from all walks of life. The unique charm of the city in many facets was demonstrated via pictures, films, and cultural performances.

The event hosts were by the China Cultural Center (Sydney), China National Tourist Office Sydney, and the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Culture and Tourism Development. The promotion also featured a series of natural tourism products represented by the world natural heritage Nanchuan Jinfo Mountain and a cultural tourism boutique represented by the farmers' prints of the Minjiang River.

Tan Jialing, vice chairman of the Chongqing Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, said at the meeting that Chongqing's tourism resources are rich and unique, and its culture is open and inclusive. Chongqing as China's famous “land of rivers and mountains” has opened 84 international routes. The municipality in southwestern China has 45 sister cities such as Brisbane. Moreover, Passengers from over 50 countries and regions including Australia enjoy 72-hour visa-free transit. She hoped that with this promotion as an opportunity, China-Australia tourism exchanges and cooperation would move to a new high.

At the event, Chongqing also sent an invitation to Australian travel agents to participate in the large-scale cultural tourism activities such as 2019 Chongqing Global Agents Conference and the Concert of World Great Rivers to be held in Chongqing in November.

It was in the hope of sharing the huge market and opportunities for tourism development with Australia and strengthening tourism cooperation with the rest of the world.
