3rd Asian Conference on Artificial Intelligence Technology Held in Chongqing

On July 6, the 3rd Asian Conference on Artificial Intelligence Technology in Chongqing (ACAIT 2019) was held in Chongqing. It was sponsored by the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence, the People’s Government of Banan District and the Chongqing University of Technology.

At ACAIT 2019 under the theme of “Intelligence Creation, Welcome Future,” many renowned experts and scholars in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) at home and abroad made excellent keynote speeches and had in-depth dialogues on hot-button topics. They aim to build a high-end and cutting-edge exchange platform with a joint industry-university-research connection in the field of AI in China and promote the integration and sharing of technological innovation resources in this field worldwide.

“At present, as human society enters the age of intelligence, AI is profoundly changing people’s way of production, living, and learning, and exerting a significant and far-reaching impact on economic development, social progress, higher education, and other aspects,” said Shi Xiaohui, President of the Chongqing University of Technology. After 63 years of development since the AI was first proposed at the Dartmouth Workshop in 1956, AI achievements such as face recognition, voice interaction, unmanned driving and smart home have gradually approached people’s lives. Moreover, the new generation of technologies represented by AI has become a new driving force for quality development. AI has a profound influence on the world economy, social progress, and people’s way of production and living, making it the focus of the development layout of countries globally.

ACAIT 2019 invited lots of experts and scholars from the US, the UK, Italy, South Korea, and other countries to give keynote reports. They carried out multi-dimensional and multi-angle in-depth exchanges and discussions on hot topics, core technologies and industrial applications in the field of AI, to promote the integration and sharing of domestic and foreign technological innovation resources in this field and better guide and spur the development and innovation of China’s AI industry.
