China Intelligence Valley · Chongqing Science and Technology Center (the Center for short) welcomed inclined parking platforms recently, which were independently developed by Chongqing Shengjie High Technology Co., Ltd. (the Company for short). Yi Min, Deputy General Manager of the Company’s Technology Department, said on July 6 that the first AGV (automated guided vehicle) smart parking robot in Chongqing would be launched, which is going to be linked with the inclined parking system to create a real intelligent automatic parking lot.

“Drivers will take only 1 minute to park in such lot, without bothering to find the spot or back the car into the right place.” Said a driver.

Inclined parking platforms have been used in the Center since early 2019, turning it into the first such parking lot in China.
40 32-degree-inclined parking platforms stand in the roughly 400 km2 lot in four rows. Previously, there were only 24 parking spots; now, it can accommodate 16 more cars.

A standard parking spot is 6 meters long, and a two-story parking lot needs a height of 3.6 meters. However, many existing lots cannot meet such requirements.
Inclined parking system consists of parking platform, power system, hydraulic system, automatic intelligent control system, safety assistance system, etc., and has gained two patents for invention and 13 patents for utility models.

The Company is also developing an AGV smart parking robot at the same time, which is going to be a significant part of the real intelligent automatic parking system.
AGV smart parking robot is a kind of transport cart, using electromagnetic or optical self-guided devices to drive on set roads with functions like protection and transfer.
The automatic parking lot to be built by the Company will combine the system with inclined parking platforms.
By then, drivers only need to pull up at the entrance and confirm on the operation interface, which will remind them to take belongings away and close doors and windows. The robots have been put into production and are expected to enter the market in September.
