In response to the principles of ecological conservation boosting the development of a civilization, while ecological damage induces the decline of a civilization and lucid waters, and lush mountains are invaluable assets, the first session of Rule of Law Forum on Ecological Protection in Three Gorges Reservoir Region 2019, jointly initiated by Kaizhou District Party Committee, Kaizhou District Government and Chongqing Daily News Group, will be held in Kaizhou from November 6 through 8, 2019. The forum is themed Rule of Law Makes a Better Environment of Three Gorges.

The Three Gorges Reservoir Region plays a critical role in the sustainable development of the economy and society in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River and as a foundation for the green and healthy development of Yangtze River Economic Belt. To contribute to the eco-environmental protection of the Three Gorges Reservoir Region and the construction of a beautiful Chongqing with charming natural landscapes, the first session of the Forum is jointly initiated by Kaizhou District Party Committee, Kaizhou District Government and Chongqing Daily News Group.
The first session of Rule of Law Forum on Ecological Protection in Three Gorges Reservoir Region 2019
The Forum aims to strengthen the environmental protection awareness of people from all walks of life in the Reservoir Region by intensifying propaganda of environmental protection laws and to establish an interdisciplinary, trans-regional, cross-industry, innovative and collaborative communication platform for the attendees to find approaches to a Green, Low-carbon and Circular sustainable development stage.
The forum is themed Rule of Law makes a better Environment of Three Gorges. It is guided by China Law Society and the Politics and Law Committee of CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee, sponsored by Kaizhou District Party Committee, Kaizhou District Government and Chongqing Daily News Group and organized by Politics and Law Committee of CPC Kaizhou District Committee and Chongqing Legal System, with 18 districts and counties in the Reservoir Region as co-organizers. The forum is set to be held in Kaizhou District from November 6 to 8, 2019.
Leaders from relevant ministries and commissions under the State Council, heads at districts and counties in the Reservoir Region, university experts and scholars, representatives of the legal community, outstanding authors of the forum theses and various media organizations will be invited to the forum.
At the forum, a Kaizhou Proposal for Eco-environmental Protection in Three Gorges Reservoir Region will be released. There will be three forums themed Proposing - to Protect Ecological Civilization in Three Gorges Area by Law, Understanding - to Promote Rule of Law on Environmental Protection in Three Gorges Reservoir Region, Implementation - to Carry out the Philosophy of Lucid Waters and Lush Mountains Are Invaluable Assets, as well as open forums. A live-action cultural show with the subject of Rule of Law makes a better Environment of Three Gorges will also be held beside Hanfeng Lake. All excellent theses collected from the forum will be collated and published on the Results Collection for the First Session of Rule of Law Forum on Ecological Protection in Three Gorges Reservoir Region 2019.
According to relevant insiders of the forum, this forum will provide judicial case examples of governance on eco-environmental protection in the Three Gorges Reservoir Region, offer references for domestic aquatic ecological control and environmental protection, and also furnish a platform for the exchange of experience in environmental management and legal construction in the Reservoir Region.
Moreover, the forum also creates favorable conditions for a direct presentation of beneficial explorations and active practices in the protection of the eco-environment of the Reservoir Region by law, for consolidation of the legal foundation of eco-protection in Kaizhou District, and greater success in environmental control in the district.
