FPGA Competition was sponsored by Smart China Expo (SCE) Organizing Committee and Intel Corporation, and undertaken by Xiyong Micro-Electronics Industrial Park, Intel FPGA China Innovation Center, Beijing AWCloud Software Co., Ltd., and Intel Innovation Accelerator.

FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) is the product of further development based on the programmable devices such as PAL (Programmable Array Logic), GAL (Generic Array Logic), CPLD (Complex Programmable Logic Device) and so on. It is developed as a semi-custom circuit in the field of ASIC (Application-Specific Integrated Circuit).

FPGA Competition consists of a division series, semi-final, and final. Only 24 out of the more than 300 teams from Beijing, Shanghai, Wuhan and Shenzhen divisions can compete in the semi-final.

Shenzhen division welcomed teams working in new retail, Artificial Intelligence (AI), finance, IoT, smart transportation and other fields, which demonstrated cutting-edge scientific innovation projects based on AI, computer vision, big data, and cloud computing.

Seven teams, including Fantoo, Semichrony Technologies LLC, Photoncounts Technology Co., Ltd., Shenzhen Colerain Technologies Co., Ltd., Reexen Technology Co., Ltd., Deepthink.ai Co., Ltd. and Deepvision Technology Co., Ltd., were qualified for the semi-final.

Semi-final will be held at Intel FPGA China Innovation Center on August 24. Sixteen winners will participate in the final held on the day of Opening Ceremony of 2019 SCE.
