SW China’s Chongqing Achieves Splendid Economic and Social Development in 70 Years

Located in the southwest of inland China and the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, Chongqing is the only Municipality in Central and Western China which directly reports to the Central Government and one of China’s key cities. It is a major modern manufacturing base and a famous historical and cultural city of China. Chongqing has jurisdiction over 38 districts and counties, covering an area of 82,400k㎡ with a registered population of 34.036 million, of which 31.018 million are permanent residents.

Looking back at the past 7 decades, Chongqing has witnessed historic changes and made historic achievements. A news conference held in Beijing on 11th September 2019 by the CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee, and the Chongqing Municipal People’s Government, showing  Chongqing's splendid economic and social development in 70 years.
