The 6th China-France (Chongqing) Environment Month Kicked Off at Testbed 2

Chongqing — The 6th China-France Environment month has begun in Chongqing. On the afternoon of September 27, the opening ceremony of the recycling photography exhibition by French photographer Alain Fouray was hosted by the Consulate General of France in Chengdu and the creative park, Testbed 2 in Chongqing.

Bruno Bisson, the consul-general of France in Chengdu met the local press in Chongqing.

The exhibition has toured several cities in France and was also exhibited in Paris during the COP21 climate conference. As an educational photography exhibition, it will showcase eight areas of the recycling industry. Through viewing the show, it can educate the public on garbage classification and voluntary participation to encourage better recycling and environmental protection.

As a special part of the opening ceremony of the exhibition, the students of Chongqing College of Humanities, Science and Technology presented a modern dance performance Mariana, which is directed by Xu Weisheng. The dance takes the problem of white pollution as the central theme and uses the dancer’s body as the material to interact with the hanging discarded items.

The year of 2019 has been defined as the China-France environmental year. The activity aims to publicize environmentalists and innovative measures through a series of cultural and scientific events, in the hope of arousing people's awareness of environmental protection and inspiring them to act together. Turning environmental awareness into consensus becomes more important in the face of urgent climate events and their impact on the health of the planet. Businessman, consumers, politicians, and civil society can all play their part in driving a shift in behavior towards more responsible and sustainable development.
