Chongqing- At the 45th WorldSkills Competition (WSC), Lin Yongkang and Zhang Ziyang, trainees of Chongqing Modern Professional Technician Institute (CMPTI), won Bronze Medals in Cooking (Western Cuisine) and Bakery. Held every two years, the WSC is known as the Olympic games for skilled professionals for its highest position, the largest scale, and the most significant influence in today’s world. It provides a platform to show the world’s best vocational skills and enable the WorldSkills International members to present and exchange skills. As the training base for the Cooking (Western Cuisine) and Bakery items on the 45th WSC, CMPTI has organized the training and selection seriously.

The 45th WSC has brought together 1,355 competitors from 69 member countries and regions of the WorldSkills International. They competed in 56 competition items under six types.
China’s delegation performs well on the 45th WSC, winning 16 Gold Medals, 14 Silver Medals, five Bronze Medals, and 17 Medallion for Excellence.
In this event, Chongqing has sent 14 players to participate in 14 items, including Beauty Therapy, Hairdressing, Automobile Technology, Cooking (Western Cuisine), etc. These players obtained won four Gold Medals, four Silver Medals, two Bronze Medals, and three Medallion for Excellence, and the gold medalists account for a quarter of the total in China. This delegation has presented the strength of China’s vocational skills and sophisticated abilities of young people to the world, and their achievements have brought honor to the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
