The 11th Chongqing – Taiwan Week, sponsored by the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council PRC and Chongqing Municipal People’s Government, opened on October 16 at the Chongqing International Convention & Exhibition Center.
With this years theme of Creative Development Integrated Sharing, the event consists of 4 parts with 19 activities. The first part includes essential functions such as the opening ceremony and Conference on Chongqing-Taiwan Integrated Development.
The 11th Chongqing – Taiwan Week opens on October 16 at Chongqing International Convention & Exhibition Center.
The second part incorporates economic and trade communication activities. For example, there will be Cross-Strait Forum on Development of Information Communication Cooperation, 2019 Cross-Strait (Chongqing) Youth Cultural Creativity Communication and Development Forum, an inspection of industries like agriculture and information and SMEs, and the Three Gorges Reservoir Region Construction Projects Promotion.
The third part, cultural and sport communication activities, is composed of 2019 Chongqing & Taiwan Calligraphy and Painting Works Exhibition, the 5th Taixie Cup Slow Pitch Softball Competition, and Chongqing-Taiwan Weiqi Competition. The fourth part comprises primary-level communication activities, including Chongqing-Taiwan Sister Townships & Towns Communication and Mutual-Visit Activity and the 3rd Chongqing-Taiwan Friendship Activity Week for Villages with Same Names.
In the opening ceremony, Mayor Tang Liangzhi delivered a speech.
Chongqing – Taiwan Week saw the signing of 161 economic and trade cooperation projects, valuing USD 19739.2 million, over the past sessions. Ninety-seven of them, including 37 IT and IT supporting projects, have been carried out, covering industries like electronic information, automobile, motorcycle and parts, metal smelting, manufacturing, modern agriculture, business, finance, service, and infrastructure construction.
Chongqing – Taiwan Week has become a vital platform for cross-strait communication and Chongqing-Taiwan economic, trade, and cultural cooperation.
