The Unveiling Ceremony of Bashu Yiweng Pavilion Held in Wulong

Chongqing — On the morning of October 16, the unveiling ceremony of Bashu Yiweng Pavilion kicked off at the Tianqu Park in the Fairy Mountain National Tourism Resort. Shi Qiangzhen and Zhou Guang, two heads of Wulong District, and well-known artists from home and abroad attended the unveiling ceremony.

At the ceremony, Shi Qiangzhen, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Committee of Wulong District and Director of the Publicity Department of Wulong District, on behalf of the CPC Committee and government of the district, expressed his warm congratulations on the establishment of the Pavilion in Fairy Mountain. He also made a brief introduction to the translation work and achievements of Professor Yang Wuneng, as well as the substantial results of Wulong in tourism. He said that the construction of the Pavilion endows Fairy Mountain with Mr. Yang’s translation spirit, injects new impetus into Wulong’s development, and boosts the creation of Wulong as an international tourist destination. In addition, at the ceremony, performers from Chongqing Acrobatic Art Troupe brought the guests a grand feast integrating magic, acrobatics, and dance programs.

In order to congratulate and commemorate Professor Yang Wuneng on his outstanding achievements, the Management Committee of Fairy Mountain specially built the Pavilion at Tianqu Park with inscriptions of “The Pavilion is built to commemorate Professor Yang Wuneng’s lifelong spirit on scholarly research and noble character, aiming to carry on his translation spirit from generation to generation, thus motivating more young people to inherit his ambition on the way forward.”
