Chongqing- The opening ceremony of the 2019 China-Singapore (Chongqing) Connectivity Initiative Financial Summit (CCI-FS 2019) took place in Southwest China’s Chongqing Municipality November 4, 2019. A total of more than 1200 participants from China, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, Brunei, Indonesia, Laos, and Cambodia attended the opening ceremony.

CCI-FS 2019 is themed with Financial Connectivity Supporting the Belt and Road- Open and Innovative Finance Driving New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor. It aims to build a high-level cooperation platform for western China and ASEAN countries as well as countries and regions along the Belt and Road routes. More than 300 domestic and overseas senior people from governments, business communities, and academia have been invited to communicate on hot topics such as cross-border investment and financing, fintech, inclusive finance, green finance, supply finance, logistics finance, and asset-backed securities (ABS).
The big financial event cohosts are the Ministry of Commerce of People’s Republic of China, People’s Bank of China, China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission, China Securities Regulatory Commission, State Administration of Foreign Exchange, Ministry of Trade and Industry of Singapore, Monetary Authority of Singapore and the Chongqing Municipal People’s Government.
Sub-events of the two-day financial summit, including the contract-signing ceremony, panels, and activities, are held in Chongqing International Expo Center and the Jiangbeizui Central Business District. The six panels are Green Finance as Impetus for Green Development, Logistics Finance Empowering the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, FinTech as Catalyst to Inclusive Finance Development, Cross-border Investment and Financing as Impetus for Belt and Road Initiative, Innovation and Development of Supply Chain Finance, and ABS Driving the Basic Industries along the Belt and Road.
Before the opening ceremony of CCI-FS, a total of 56 major projects worth RMB 194.54 billion (about USD 27.69 billion) are signed at the Contract-Signing Ceremony of Major Projects on November 4, 2019.
