German Hidden Champions Intend to Cooperate with Chongqing Enterprises

On October 30, the 2019 Chinese-German Cooperation Forum for Hidden Champions and Investment Cooperation was staged in Chongqing. Representatives of more than 30 German hidden champion enterprises and guilds attended this forum, among which eight hidden champion enterprises carried out project roadshows on the spot to look for opportunities for investment and cooperation.

This activity was co-organized by Chongqing Investment Promotion Bureau (CIPB), China International Investment Promotion Agency (Germany), and Guang Hua Cultures ET Media.

Founder of Simon-Kucher & Partners Hermann Simon said that Germany, as the world’s manufacturing and export power, has strong international competitiveness. “Made-in-Germany” products have won universal praise, and many of its small and medium-sized enterprises have been included in the list of “hidden champions.”

He introduced that German enterprises account for nearly 50% of the world’s total hidden champion enterprises of more than 2,700. The number of hidden champion enterprises per million people is the highest in the world.

The person in charge of CIPB said that China is a significant investment partner of Germany, while Chongqing is the favored city of German enterprises and investment. CIPB will build an international industrial dialogue channel and open platform for enterprises of both sides, strengthen cooperation and exchanges on talent, technology, market, and seek joint development.

On the spot of the Forum, 8 German hidden champion enterprises carried out project roadshows, involving artificial intelligence, intelligent terminal and big data cloud computing.

Sven Bartsky, General Manager of Jinqiao National, said that the company is mainly engaged in international trade of spare parts for mobile phones. He knew that one out of every three mobile phones in the world is made in Chongqing, so he is eager for cooperation with Chongqing enterprises to sell their spare parts for mobile phones to global markets. What attracts him most is the favorable business environment and convenient international logistics of the city.
