The Pharmaceutical Machinery Exhibition is Asia's largest professional exhibition for the pharmaceutical machinery industry. It was held in Chongqing in 2013, 2014, 2016 and 2018. It is reported that the exhibition area of this fair is more than 180,000 square meters, a total of 9,800 booths, and 1,320 exhibitors in exhibiting. The equipment on display covers nearly 10,000 sets of equipment in eight categories, including preparation machinery, raw material medicine machinery and pharmaceutical packaging machinery. At the same time, during the exhibition, there will be 3 international forums and 68 technical exchanges. 460 international companies from nearly 30 countries and regions including Europe, the United States, Japan and South Korea will come to the exhibition. The number of exhibitors is expected to reach 80,000. Exhibitors include many world-renowned pharmaceutical companies, such as Uman, Fett from Germany, Omori in Japan, CKD, etc., which will set up a global business negotiation and trade exchange platform for local pharmaceutical companies.

“The pharmaceutical industry is one of Chongqing's strategic emerging industries. Chongqing is making every effort to promote the development of the pharmaceutical industry”, said Zhang Yuyi, the deputy director of the exhibition office of the Chongqing Municipal People's Government and the Municipal Commercial Committee. He indicated that in 2018, the city`s biology output value of the pharmaceutical industry is nearly 60 billion yuan. By 2020, Chongqing will become a famous inland international convention and exhibition city with a balanced development. According to Zhang, Chongqing will have a number of high quality exhibitions and conference forum projects that radiate national and world influence. The total exhibition area will reach 11 million square meters. The direct income of the industry reached 24 billion yuan, driving the city's consumption exceeded 200 billion yuan; the marketization rate of the exhibition industry reached 95%, and the specialization rate reached 70%.
