On Nov 15, 2019, the 2019 CFA Team China "Dazu Cup" International Football Championship will kick off in Dazu District, Chongqing. The Chinese national men's soccer team will play against teams from Australia, North Korea, and Lithuania.
Qianhu, the deputy head of the Dazu District Government, said that Dazu applied to the Chinese Football Association for five consecutive years to host the 2019-2023 Chinese Football Association International Olympic Football Championships. The venue of the competition is located in the Dazu Sports Center. This is the first time for Dazu District to host the international competition for the national football team. The matches are on November 1st, 17th, and 19th, every day at 4:00 pm and 7:35 pm, two games a day, for a total of six games.
In this competition, the Chinese Olympic team was led by local coach Hao Wei. The team gathered a group of outstanding players in the country, including Zhang Yuning, the best performer in the Super League, and Huang Zichang, the best newcomer. Chongqing players Yang Liyu, Cao Yongjing, Chen Pu, and so on are expected to show their performance in their hometown. Currently, the team is training in Thailand; they will arrive on November 10th to prepare.
The "Dazu Cup" International Football Championships is a FIFA A-level event, which is also an essential event for the Chinese men's football team before the 2020 Tokyo Olympics qualifier. Compared with the participating teams in Wanzhou, the opponents of this competition are more targeted. Among them, Australia and North Korea will participate in the Olympic qualifiers, while Lithuania has the tenacity as an Eastern European team.
