On November 9, Chongqing Gala of Time began in Shin Kong Place of Jiazhou in Yubei District, Chongqing. It is a kind of cultural carnival to present cultural exchanges between Chongqing and the world. Meanwhile, it is one of the largest public welfare events to promote Chongqing this year.

 

With Open the Door to the World as the theme, the cultural event focuses on the Belt and Road, New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, international sister-cities, and Consulate General in Chongqing and Chengdu. Moreover, the cultural carnival comprehensively uses the LED groups, the creative style of digital screens, and interactive experiences to promote Chongqing’s features, such as landscape, tourism, or scientific and technological achievements. Therefore, the event will support Chongqing to develop the city image.

There is a pillar with digital screens all sides to display photos or videos. Different from other exhibitions, the cultural carnival will present photo exhibitions and video shows through digital screens. Therefore, audiences will enjoy a large visual feast. On the other side of the square, there is a tree of earphones to show people the voice of Chongqing. You can listen to stories, culture, and more on the phone to feel the charming of this city. In addition, you can also experience Diaoyu Fortress and the first sight of the Yangtze River by VR there. In addition to photos and videos from famous Chinese people, there are also image and video exhibitions in overseas friends’ eyes, presenting this city from a different angle.

Besides, there are other art performances there, including the overseas music band, clowns on the stilts, street painting, and more. Some international students had given performances, like dragon dance, deepening international cultural exchanges. Furthermore, intangible cultural heritages of Chongqing, including leaf arts, dough figurines, micro-carvings, and so on, are presenting Chongqing-featured culture.

Chongqing Gala of Time will continue for one week, ending on November 17. During this period, there are Banan Day, Beibei Day, and Bishan Day on the weekend, which is on November 10, 16, and 17. The Consul General of Japan in Chongqing, the Consul General of Australia in Chengdu, and the Deputy Consul General of Italy in Chongqing attended the ceremony. Also, they will reach a series of cooperation with the cities and counties in Chongqing.
