On the afternoon of November 9, over 10 French entrepreneurs paid a visit to Rongchang National Comprehensive Practice Demonstration Base. To feel the charm of traditional Chinese culture, they observed the potteries, grasscloth, and other national-level intangible cultural heritage products of China with curiosity. After the visit, representatives of the French entrepreneurs licensed the demonstration base to be a west China talent cultivation base for the exchange and cooperation between China and France.

The French visiting mission consists of MBA holders from Neoma Business School, Freinet Education Group, Academy Culture, and Exchanges, etc. Surprised by the potteries of various shapes in the exhibition hall, the visitors consistently praised the artistic beauty and took photos of those artworks. A French entrepreneur was amazed by the Rongchang grasscloth and kept asking about the production procedures and craftsmanship for it. Another French entrepreneur asked for two sample pieces of grasscloth from the base and expressed his willingness to help Rongchang intangible cultural heritage products to go global by trying to integrate the grasscloth with Paris fashion clothes.

Philippe de Lestrange said it was his first time to visit Chongqing. He was delighted to see the profound history and culture in this beautiful city. He was attracted by the Rongchang pottery works at first sight and considered that he could incorporate them into his paintings to create beautiful artworks. Under the cooperation between China and French, he’s willing to contribute all his works to the cultural and commercial cooperation between both countries and develop some cultural exchanges and partnerships in other sectors by the Silk and Road.

Rongchang demonstration base has a sophisticated product-service system for teenagers. Its international intangible cultural heritage course targeting adults will become a feature of the base and be open to teenagers after upgrading. The French representatives have also set the demonstration base as the west China talent cultivation base for the exchange and cooperation between China and France.
