On the morning of Nov.13, the Century Diamond Cruise took the attendees for Chongqing Global Travel Agents to the last stop of the Three Gorges tour – Three Gorges Dam.

The Three Gorges Dam, situated in the Yichang, nearby the Xiling Gorge, is the biggest dam in China and the world’s largest hydroelectric station for the usage of flood control and power generation. As well-known as the dam is, it is the first time for many foreign guests to behold the spectacular dam structure and get to know its complete history in person.

“This is amazing. I heard about the Three Gorges Dam project in the 1990s, but never believed it would be done. Today I saw it in person. I can’t help to get stunned at the great man's work.” Said Leif Longsmann, a member of Chongqing Global Travel Agents Conference group.

The Three Gorges Tour is an important part of the ongoing Chongqing Global Travel Agents Conference from Nov.10 to 15. Around 400 travel agents from over 30 countries and regions including the UK, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Australia, Singapore, Thailand have arrived in Chongqing to attend the conference. Through the two routes, they experienced the charm of the gorgeous land in-depth.

Pan Wenliang, the Director of the Security Department of Chongqing Municipal Commission of Culture and Tourism Development, was in the Three Gorges tour. He told iChongqing, “The conference serves as a platform for people-to-people exchange both home and abroad. It also showcases Chongqing’s charm in culture and history.” He continued, “Through the conference, the representatives from the tourism industry get an in-depth experience with the Three Gorges tourism belt and checked Chongqing’s tourism service and management in the meantime.”
