Chongqing- On 19th November, Welcome Cocktail Party to celebrate the appointment of Mr. Bruno Bisson to the position of Consul General of France to Chengdu was held in JW Marriott Hotel Chongqing.
Organized by the European Chamber Southwest China Chapter, the welcome party brought together guests including diplomatic representatives of Consulate Generals of 9 countries in Chengdu and Chongqing such as France, the UK, Japan, Cambodia, Canada, Uruguay, Hungary, Italy, and the Netherland, representatives from foreign institutions in Chongqing, officials from Foreign Affairs Office of Chongqing Municipal People’s Government, as well as members and friends of European Chamber.

Mr. Li Qian, the Director of Foreign Affairs Office of Chongqing Municipal People’s Government reviewed the latest cooperation highlights between Chongqing and France in the welcome speech. He said, “In the past one month, Dassault System Chongqing Intelligent Manufacture Innovation Center launched in Liangjiang New Area, which is invested by the Fortune 500 and the largest software company in Europe - Dassault System. Yuxinou Cross Board Ecommerce reached a deal with Danone on an order at the value of USD 300 million. The French - Chinese Center, 1Kubator Asia, and 1Kubator incubator is inaugurated in Jiulongpo District.” Chongqing is welcoming the new Consul General with practical and positive cooperation results. Mr. Li also thanked Mr. Bruno for his efforts to promote cooperation between Chongqing and France.

Mr. Bruno Bisson delivered a speech to shed the spotlight on the long-lasting relationship between Chongqing and France. “The first French Consulate in Chongqing was opened 1896,” said the Consul General. “You can still find the history present” he added after showing the renovated site of French Navy Barrack in Chongqing. “We need to know each other better. We need to attract more events from Beijing and Shanghai to Chongqing.” Said Mr. Bisson, in goodwill to enhance France’s cooperation with Chongqing in areas involving Research and Development, trade and business, education and tourism, etc
