The newly released Chongqing Municipal People’s Government Work Report points out: Chongqing plans to expand the functions of China Railway Express (Chongqing), exploit the freight source market, organize trains to import finished vehicles and cold-chain meat, intensify international policing and law enforcement cooperation on transportation safety and improve the corridor network of radiation, distribution, and services.
The China-Europe Railway Express has become the backbone of international logistics land transport for its short transport distance, fast speed, and high safety performance, and it is expected to dispatch about 7,000 trains in 2019.
In 2019, Chongqing accelerated the construction of an exemplary inland city of opening-up, and China Railway Express (Chongqing) dispatched over 1,500 trains throughout the year, with both the container volume and the value of freight increased by 48%.
“Over the past few years, goods exported to Europe via China Railway Express (Chongqing) have been able to meet all the needs of consumers. In the beginning, it only carries products such as laptops, but now it also transports high-value-added products such as LCD panels and integrated circuits,” said Qi Dan, General Manager of Yuxinou (Chongqing) Logistics Co., Ltd., the operating platform of China Railway Express.

According to information from Shapingba District, the first cold-chain transportation test train for vegetables of China Railway Express (Chongqing) left Chongqing Tuanjie Village Railway Central Station at 9, December 25, 2019. It only took 13 days, much shorter than the time of sea transportation via the eastern region.
This successful test of cold-chain transportation of vegetables provides the basis for the diversification of freight and services of China Railway Express. It also proves that China Railway Express (Chongqing) can provide reliable solutions in a timely manner in the face of the increasingly diversified demands.
In the next step, China Railway Chengdu Group Co., Ltd. will work with relevant units and departments to continuously optimize transportation links, improve service capacities and further expand the testing category of vegetables, to realize regular transportation as soon as possible.
