The Logistics Company of CELB Cooperates to Ensure Operation of ILSTC During COVID-19

Chongqing - Since the outbreak of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), The CCI Eurasia Land Bridge Logistics Development Co., Ltd., or CELB, has cooperated with relevant parties to and maintaining the uninterrupted operation of The International Land-Sea Trade Corridor (ILSTC).

The continuous operation has been a joint effort of the company with the Xinglongchang Marshaling Station, Tuanjiecun Station, Chongqing, and Qinzhou Customs and other departments to implement point-to-point shipments, and customs declaration. The ILSTC carrying auto parts, chemical products, pulp, machinery equipment, and others operated 83 trips this year as of February 23, 2020, according to its platform company of CELB. That’s a part of the company’s efforts to ensure the transport of international logistics during the epidemic outbreak.

Since the epidemic outbreak, CELB has activated its emergency response mechanism for epidemic prevention and control. The company prioritizes the transportation of all kinds of emergency materials for epidemic prevention and control and guarantee of peoples’ daily lives. At the same time, it endeavors to meet the logistics needs as other enterprises gradually resume production and work.

CELB has signed agreements to purchase more than 200,000 medical masks, 20,000 infrared thermometers, and 20,000 medical protective clothing from overseas, of which more than 14,000 protective clothing have been shipped to Chongqing. Moreover, the company proactively contacted relevant pharmaceutical enterprises and undertook the transportation of a batch of medical equipment worth about 2 million yuan (about 285,229 USD) on February 14, to hospitals in Wuhan and Yichang, Hubei Province. It also donated surgical masks, gloves, and other supplies to the Red Cross Society of China Chongqing Branch and its employees also made donations.

In addition, the company has also cooperated with Chongqing Customs, Chongqing Airport Group and others in their operational services such as fast customs clearance and real-time tracking of medical supplies purchased globally, and ensured the transportation of international logistics channels.

In the next, CELB will continue to open the green channel for transportation and ensure the timeliness of transportation, giving priority to the delivery of epidemic preventive supplies, daily necessities, and emergency production materials. It will also enhance regional coordination and cooperation. The construction of a public information platform of ILSTC will be promoted to integrate services such as visualized logistics tracking throughout the whole process, online shipping-space booking, financial transactions, and customs declaration. Apart from that, CELB will speed up the layout of the collection and distribution network, to promote the construction of Chongqing as a logistics and operating center and further help customer enterprises to reduce cost and increase efficiency.
