It reported 132 confirmed cases currently hospitalized, with seven in severe condition and four in critical condition, six deaths, and 438 discharged patients after recovery, according to the Chongqing Municipal Health Commission. 

Experts believe that as of February 29, there were no new confirmed cases in Chongqing for five consecutive days. Meanwhile, there were no new confirmed cases in 26 districts and counties for 14 consecutive days, no new confirmed cases in 38 districts and counties for seven successive days, and numbers of suspected cases to be reduced. Phased declines have achieved in the prevention and control of the epidemic. However, with the gradual resumption of the order of production and living, the flow of people will increase, therefore, resulting in the risk of COVID-19's palindromia. Everyone in Chongqing should be highly vigilant and resolutely ensure epidemic prevention and control.

On February 29, SUNING, Times Paradise Walk of Long Free, General Trading Electric Appliance, and some other shopping malls in Jiefangbei and Daping business areas resumed working, with the strict prevention and control of the epidemic.

SUNING only opened the second floor, which provides mobile phones, computers, and other digital products, with the opening hours from 09:30 to 18:00. The Times Paradise Walk opened the first floor of four halls, covering makeups, clothing, bags, jewelry, and supermarkets. The opening hour is 11:00 to 18:00. Additionally, General Trading opened halls of TV, digital, household appliances, kitchen, and bathroom on the first floor to the third floor, from 11:00 to 18:00.

Meanwhile, flow control has been implemented. The mall door and parking area are only partially open at present. Chongqing to provide psychological counseling for epidemic prevention and control for minors

Recently, Chongqing has launched the city's mental health counseling work for children's epidemic prevention and control. Chongqing provided a series of micro-lectures on mental health counseling for children and adolescents online and opened more than 60 psychological counseling hotlines for minors.

In addition, Chongqing has opened more than 60 mental health counseling hotlines for minors, involving more than 600 experts and volunteers. So far, there are more than 3,000 consultations.

On February 29, the eighth batch of the medical team, from Chongqing supporting the Hubei, cooperated with Wuhan First People's Hospital to implement ECMO (extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, commonly known as artificial lung). The patient of ECMO treatment had successfully passed 72 hours after surgery, and the vital signs are stable at present. This is the first case of extracorporeal membrane lung treatment implemented by the Chongqing medical team supporting in Wuhan.

Extracorporeal membrane lung is to install an artificial heart or lung outside the patient's body. In this way, it allows the patient's heart and lungs to rest, thereby earning time for the recovery of lung function. The installation of ECMO mainly includes the establishment of vascular access, the construction of membrane lung machines, and the close monitoring and timely treatment of possible accidents of patients.

The 71-year-old woman is a critical case of COVID-19 and had intractable hypoxia and respiratory failure due to severe lung disease. After rescue treatments such as tracheal intubation and prone ventilation, her lung oxygenation status has not improved. Therefore, consultation experts agree that giving her ECMO treatment to help her to survive. Although it is tough to take the surgery, the team members successfully completed the operation, with long-term clinical experience. After several dozens of procedures involved, the patient's oxygen saturation increased to 100%, who was at the edge of oxygen depletion before.

The overall confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland had reached 79,824 by the end of February 29, and 2,870 people had died of the disease, according to the National Health Commission (NHC). A total of 41,625 people had been discharged from the hospital after recovery.

Zhang Boli, the expert of China's epidemic prevention and control team and the present of Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, said, "We believe that the COVID-19 will be basically controlled by the end of April. I think other provinces and cities (except Hubei) in China can take off masks to restore normal order by the end of April."
