Since the outbreak of COVID-19, Chongqing had dispatched 1,636 members altogether through 18 medical teams to support Hube Province and provide pairing assistance to Xiaogan City by the end of February.

At the beginning of the outbreak, Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce immediately responded to the short supply of daily necessities in the market of Wuhan. On the evening of January 24 (Chinese New Year’s Eve), 12 trucks that carry the first batch of donated materials departed from Chongqing Shuangfu International Agricultural Product Trade City. A total of 360 tons of vegetables and other vital necessities of life consisting of more than 30 categories were sent to Wuhan from Chongqing, showing the latter’s solicitude for people in Wuhan.
During the outbreak, Chongqing has been calling for donations from all sectors of society. Fengjie’s navel oranges, Wulong’s dried tofu, Wanzhou’s lemons, and other distinctive agricultural products in Chongqing have been sent to Wuhan and Xiaogan to meet the basic needs of the locals.

In recent days, Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce organized donations again from commercial and trade enterprises upon learning the needs of Xiaogan for disposable lunch boxes, instant noodles, biscuits, vegetables, and other living materials. Besides, nearly RMB 300,000 from the commission was spent on purchasing 400,000 disposable lunch boxes to support Xiaogan. These materials are ready now and will be transported to Xiaogan from Guanyinqiao Agricultural Product Trade Market and Hailing Agricultural Product Wholesale Market, respectively, on March 10.
According to incomplete statistics, by March 10, Chongqing’s 24 districts, counties, or units have organized 36 donation activities for Hubei Province and donated 1,813.3 tons of various living materials in total, which is worth about RMB 11.8 million (1.7 million USD).
