The two national hi-tech zones, Chongqing Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone and Chengdu Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone, launched their first joint meeting for drawing a new blueprint and developing new opportunities for the two cities, signaling their substantially cooperative step advancing the construction of Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle.

At the joint meeting, the two zones introduced their planning and construction, industrial development, scientific and technological innovation, and others, respectively. According to their preliminary discussion, the two sides decided to focus on five aspects, including the cooperation on advantageous industries, innovation resources sharing, global resources connectivity, exploration of win-win models and creation of major functional platforms, in a bid to drive the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle forward.
They will make further cooperation in such areas as co-leading the creation of the alliance for Chengdu-Chongqing hi-tech industrial development zones and Chengdu-Chongqing demonstration zones for industrial collaboration, promoting the pilot practice for “licenses to be accessed via one website” for both enterprises, and rolling out the policy for mutual recognition of professional qualifications.
The two zones initially determined the working mechanism of combined development for propelling the construction of Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle and the opportunity to establish a joint Party-government meeting, a joint office, and a special working group, thus laying a solid foundation for creating a higher standard of both hi-tech zones, promoting the normal work of both cities and advancing the cooperation on major projects.
