Chongqing- On April 1, the 63rd press conference of COVID-19’s prevention and control was held. Chongqing attaches great importance to the prevention and control of asymptomatic infections of COVID-19, regarding it as the crucial infection sources to be controlled.

To prevent risks to the greatest extent, laboratory tests have been carried out on all returnees and close contacts who came to Chongqing and entered the quarantine center to thoroughly check for asymptomatic infections. Once asymptomatic infections are found, related measures are taken in accordance with the requirements of the Chinese prevention and control program.
First of all, all asymptomatic infections will be reported in time. All medical and health institutions shall report the asymptomatic infections found in time according to the requirements in China. Meanwhile, the disease control agencies in the jurisdictions shall complete the case investigation on time.

Moreover, Chongqing will implement centralized medial observation strictly. Once asymptomatic infections are found, related departments or institutions should immediately send to the designated hospital for 14-day centralized quarantine medical observation. Before the end of the medical observation, the specimen must be tested for negative nucleic acid twice (sampling interval greater than 24 hours). After the quarantine at the designated hospital is released, asymptomatic infections should be transferred to centralized isolation areas to continue observation for 14 days, according to management requirements for their recovery situations.
