Besides, Chongqing Customs seized a cross-border e-commerce export infringement case in China Europe Express (Yuxinou) for the first time. More than 50,000 people in Chongqing participated in intellectual property law popularization activities.

Chongqing to apply for nearly 70,000 patents throughout 2019
The free application for patents, implemented by Chongqing, has given this city a burst of patent applications. In 2019, Chongqing applied for 67,271 patents throughout the year. Meanwhile, the number of invention patents per 10,000 population achieved 10.46, with an increase of 15.2%.
In addition, Chongqing has 502,200 valid trademark registrations, a total of 256 registered geographical indication trademarks, and a total of 299 international trademark registrations through the Madrid System.

Also, Chongqing registered 157,692 works in 2019, a year-on-year increase of 82.65%. Among them, fine arts, photography, and electrical category have become the main force of registration, accounting for 95.93% of the total. One hundred ten scientific and technological achievements were evaluated, and 3822 technical contract registration transactions were conducted, with a turnover of RMB 15.035 billion, including 1988 intellectual property contracts with a turnover of 11.628 billion yuan.

In 2019, Chongqing held Promotion Tour of the International Registration of Trademarks through the Madrid System for the first time. Lots of well-known experts in the domestic and abroad helped the export enterprises to carry out the overseas deployment of intellectual property rights. Moreover, the National Intellectual Property Administration PRC held the Belt and Road Innovation and Intellectual Property Protection Seminar for senior executives in Chongqing, promoting and presenting the development history and protection status of the intellectual property system in China and Chongqing to trainees from 14 countries including Ethiopia, Laos and Egypt, and more.
Besides, Chongqing Intellectual Property Office actively carried out foreign-related intellectual property protection, established a cooperation mechanism with the National Overseas Intellectual Property Dispute Response Instruction Center. In addition, it also established a long-term intellectual property protection mechanism for import and export enterprises with Chongqing Customs. For example, nine geographical indication products, including Fuling Pickles, had been on the protection list of China- European Union countries.
